Knitting and Stitching Extravaganza comes to Scotland
The Knitting and Stitching show has travelled around Britain for many years but this is the first time it has come to Scotland and it promises to be the biggest craft show Scotland has ever seen.
As part of the year of Innovation, Architecture and Design in Scotland, an initiative sponsored by the scottish Government. Other sponsors include major knitting, crochet and craft magazine publications such as Simply Knitting,
With over 200 exhibitors and suppliers, beginners and expert crafters will find lots to inspire and relish.
Knitters, crochet fans, dressmakers, sewing and embroidery enthusiasts will be in their element, with demonstrations, workshops, live creative lifestyle shows. project ideas, wools, yarns, fabrics, patterns, accessories like needles, hooks, storage.
Some big recognised names will have exhibition stands.
McCall Patterns will have a dedicated Dressmaking Studio with experts on hand on the basics of dressmaking, buttonholes, hems, seam finishing, zip insertion or understanding patterns.
Large and small, established and new companies will have stands offering information, great value and discounts on their products.
One interesting newcomer to the online wool stockist collection is on Stand G4. Run by self-confessed yarnaholic, wool dyer, wool painter and spinner, knitting expert and sewing diva Di Herriot of The Wooly Witch in West Calder, West Lothian, just a stone’s throw from Edinburgh. They have a lovely selection of British Knitting Wools and Cottons
They will be offering knitting kits for small knitted items like socks, slippers, mittens scarves, baby small like bootees. You’ll find them on Stand G4
